Welcome to Wheatfields Estate

On the picturesque Groot Phesantekraal Estate in Durbanville, with the Boland mountains beyond, lies Wheatfields Estate.

Nestled in this rich history, Wheatfields Estate is a collection of distinctively designed homes, set in a secure gated estate, perfect for those who seek more from life than mere mediocracy.

Wide-open spaces meet wholesome living in Phesantekraal, to the east of what remains of the original Groot Phesantekraal farm, which was given to its first owner, Olof Bergh, by Governor Simon van der Stel in 1698. The farm was passed from the Bergh family to the Louw family, who lived there for several generations before it was eventually acquired by Arend Brink in 1897. While the Brink family originated in the Cape, Arend was a transport rider between the diamond and goldfields up north before settling on this farm on the outskirts of Durbanville.

While vines were always cultivated here over the centuries, Groot Phesantekraal was known as a successful cattle, sheep, and grain farm until the present fourth-generation owner, Andre Brink and his wife Ronelle planted 50ha of vineyards in the late 1990s, now a popular boutique winery and restaurant.
